Life Lately

Happy March, friends! I mentioned in this post that I’d be taking the entire month of February off of social media and explained why. I had this nagging desire for a while but it felt equal parts irresponsible and selfish for some reason. As much as I tried to ignore it, that conviction wouldn’t go away so I decided it was must be necessary. Reflecting back on the beautiful month of February, that word “necessary” doesn’t even come close. I do have to say, it felt strange not posting little snippets to stories every day so it’s time for a proper catch-up. Here’s what I’ve been reading, eating, watching, enjoying, wearing and doing this past month!

Natural Skincare Routine

While I’ve used almost exclusively natural skincare products for the past few years since I began the pregnancy and nursing journey, I switched over to 100% clean products this year. Between learning more about the parabens and chemicals in regular products and finding out about my own autoimmune disease, the switch was a no brainer. A necessity. That being said, it wasn’t easy. I’ve amassed quite the skincare collection over the years and letting go of my ride or die products felt like a loss of much more than moisturizer and eye cream. It felt like losing a little bit of my freedom-of myself. I’m here to report it’s not as dramatic as it seems and I truly look forward to my skincare routine every morning and evening.

Top Posts of 2018

This year was a big one personally and professionally. It was my first full year of working on Gold & Graphite which meant so, so much learning. Learning HTML, SEO, batch working, how to better spend my time in work, learning leaning learning. Personally, we moved to Texas after 7 years of living in Virginia, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, O started coaching for the AAF and I began homeschooling. I’m so grateful to have a blog when it comes to seasons of reflection because while my journals are filled with memories and ideas, seeing them with photos and formulated thoughts is such a gift that I wouldn’t have any other way. If you want to reflect with me, here are the top blog post of this year.
