My mirror-selfie game was weak this past week but here are 5 outfits from the past 7 days nonetheless! It included the typical stuff like school drop offs, homeschool, workouts and mom life but I also had a visit from a friend, a sisters night and a pumpkin-patch family day. Let’s dive in!
Week two! I didn’t photograph my tee and shorts the two days I worked out (because you can’t buy my 2004 reebok outlet shorts anywhere, friends) but I snapped the rest of my outfits as promised. This week was the same balance of homeschool, school drop off, evening Bible Study and date night.
You guys asked to see what I actually wear in day to day life and I’m so happy to introduce the first edition of the Weekend Notes. For the next four weeks, I’m going to share what I actually wore this week on the blog. I’m vowing to keep it real (I may move away from the iPhone mirror shot but for now, that’s holding me accountable!) which means some weeks has a whole lot of athleisure thrown in there. A little bonus: at the end of each post, I’ll answer the top 3 questions asked that week via social media and email. After one month I’ll evaluate based on page views and feedback to see if this is something I’ll do long term. Ready. Set. Go!
If you gathered 100 women from all over the country and sat them down to ask each of them their favorite season to get dressed in, the answer would be a unanimous “Fall.” Sure it’s nice to wear sundresses for three months straight in summertime but there is nothing quite as comforting as getting to throw on an extra layer every day of Fall. We’ve made it to cozy season, my friends. Whether you’re looking to snuggle up at the football game in a pullover or head downtown in a full on sherpa coat, I’ve got you covered.
I don’t know why fashion rules exist in the first place. Growing up the rules were many and serious. “Don’t wear navy and black, or else!” “Pink and Red can never be mixed, or else!” “White after labor day is the worst possible thing you could ever do so forget it…or else!!!” Do you want to know what I say? The only rule you need to follow when it comes to your wardrobe, aside from please
clothe yourself, is to wear what you feel best in. For me, that means white all year round.
I asked on Instagram last week what Fall Fashion content you all wanted to see from this space and four things tied for first place. All the next fashion posts will tackle your requests so we’re building the foundation here with first things first: the Fall Wardrobe 5×5. Five different variations of the five pieces that make for a foolproof closet once the temperatures begin to dip. These are the workhorses that you’ll rotate all fall long year after year.
