We’ve done our fair share of traveling this summer and I often reach for the same things to pack in my makeup + toiletry bags. With outfits I can be risky and try new things but with my skincare and makeup, I always stick to my tried and true favorites. Many of these are items I’ve been using for years so you can see some in action in my makeup tutorial video from last year right here. Aside from my skincare, favorite concealer and eyebrow product, here are the things that never get left behind:
Toiletry Bag: I’ve written a post about this MVP before right here so all I’ll say is that it’s minimized my spilling of products by 100% and maximized the amount of things I’m able to pack and how organized everything is by 100% too.
Becca First Light Primer: This purple primer looks intimidating but it’s this magical instant “glowing from within” secret. Just look at those before and after photos, guys! I like to put it on after my skincare routine and let it breathe for a couple minutes before adding some tinted moisturizer.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: I rarely ever wear foundation so it doesn’t make the travel cut. Instead, this lightweight, uber natural tinted moisturizer has been my favorite for 8 years in a row and it’s completely effortless (I apply it with my fingertips most days!) but transforms my skin. Another bonus is that it has SPF 20 so I know I have a bit of sunscreen every day.
Marc Jacobs Bronzer: This was sold out for so many months I pretty much just gave up hopes of ever getting my hands on it. A few months ago, I finally tried it out and this bronzer more than lives up to the hype. I had only seen it on fair skin finding out it’s a universally perfect shade has made it an easy favorite. The price made me nervous but I’ve been told it lasts 3 lifetimes so it’s more than worth it.
Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner: There has never been an easier, more perfect liquid eyeliner ever to exist. Just a quick little slim cat-eye makes me feel more myself.
Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick: This is a new favorite. It’s a buttery eyeshadow stick with bits of metallic pieces in it that elevates even a t-shirt and jeans. I like to put it right along the lash line and smudge it in for a sweet look and will apply it under my lower lashes for more impact. Every color is stunning but my current favorite is Cocoa.
Benefit ‘They’re Real’ Mascara: I’ve tried lots of Mascaras, this one still takes the cake. No muss, no fuss, it just makes my sad lashes compliment worthy and that’s enough for me!
Nars Blush: The Nars Blush formula is famous for a reason. The colors are warmer and richer which looks more like a natural flush than clown-like blush. Just a touch on the apples of my cheeks and the tip of my nose makes me look like the best version of myself.
RMS Magic Luminizer If you’re no stranger to my blog, you know how much I love this stuff (it even made my Best Purchases of 2017 list!) My simple makeup includes quickly doing my eyebrows, putting on some under eye concealer and dotting this highlighter across my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. It makes me look so healthy and glowy and it’s always with me.
Laura Mercier Matte Lip Shaker: I used to bring a giant pouch of lipsticks and glosses wherever I went, but these days I’m down to about 4. A sheer pinky gloss, a nude creamy lipstick, a perfect red and this. This shaker is matte while still being creamy and soft. The shade ‘Completely Nut’ is what I wore exclusively in San Francisco.
Acqua Di Gioa Perfume Roller This is my signature scent. That sounds pretty dramatic to say but I just had to try! I wear this all Spring and Summer and switch to something a little richer in Fall and Winter. Having a rollerball version in my purse at all times makes me feel ready for anything, especially when my deodorant fails me.
Peace Out Acne Healing Dots Traveling always leaves me with a spot or two. ( Am I the only one obsessed with British beauty bloggers? Spot sounds so much better than pimple, or worse…zit) I sleep with one of these on and it draws out all the dirt and does a good job of unclogging the oil and yuck.
No Mo Stache Wax Strips: No description needed, I just cant risk a mustache on vacation, you know? These strips are quick and super reliable to get the job done.
