On May 24th at 9:41 in the morning, our third child and second daughter was born. As many of you know, we’ve never found out the gender of our babies and that moment in the water waiting to see if we’re adding a boy or a girl to the family is pure magic. There’s just nothing like it in the world. After weeks of prodromal labor and months of contractions, labor was fast and intense and beautiful and so intimate. I spent so much time preparing for birth and trying to envision it that I can hardly believe it was already four weeks ago. How does time do that thing it does? Erasing seconds without us noticing?
In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing a post in my postpartum series every Monday. I’ve received so many questions about favorite newborn items, how my recovery is going, my birth story, breastfeeding and everything in between. This is some of my favorite content to share because it’s my absolute favorite content to read myself. For any mothers pregnant or walking through newborn life in these strange, heavy times, know you’re not alone. There are women all across the world facing this season alongside you, even if from a distance. I’m still soaking in newborn snuggles and adjusting to life with three children so I’ve pulled back a bit on DM’s but if you email me I will always, always get back to you there.
I can’t thank you enough for the well wishes, prayer and kindness you’ve sent my way in the past month. I’m so grateful for this community and while it can be challenging to decide what to share and I’ve been feeling a bit of a pull to privacy, sharing snippets of brightness from our days as a family of five has been such a you. For day-to-day life, be sure to follow along on Instagram. For the in-depth postpartum series, be sure to check back every Monday. I’m off to go sneak in some sleep before it’s time to feed my girl again. These are the days xo.
