Friday Feels
Guys, it’s December! I cannot wrap my head around it. It’s taken pretty much all week but we’re almost finished setting up all the decorations around here and there’s just nothing like a Christmas tree to make everything better, right? Oshiolema lights up all day long announcing which ornament is his “faaayvwittt” (right now it’s between the sparkly croissant and the truck he chose) and it absolutely melts me.
I’ve noticed lately there’s so much you can learn about a person just by how they decorate for Christmas. It’s so personal! No two people decorate just alike. So, in honor to get to know each other better I’d love to know, what Christmas Decor camp do you fall in? Colored or plain lights? Real or fake tree? Advent Calendar? Elf on the Shelf?
As for us, we always use an artificial tree and I can’t imagine it any other way! I keep ornaments metallic and simple and I tied a blush toned nude silk ribbon on the garland this year which is making me all kinds of happy. I’ve never been a red-and-green Christmas person, but I have sprinkled a couple red ornaments on the tree this year which is a biggg deal. We haven’t really figured out ornament traditions yet but I have some special ones like the bell from the year we got married and a beautiful Mackenzie Childs figurine for when each of the babes were born. I feel the need to be extra sentimental about everything so I have a feeling I’m gonna need to up the nostalgia factor when it comes to our ornaments.
Next week is a super exciting one around here so I’ll be spending the weekend loving on my team and finishing little projects. Happy Friday, friends!
