As a non-toxic makeup and skincare lover, my typical one stop shop is always Credo. The problem is, Credo only has one sale a year (!) and I need to restock more frequently than that. If you also love clean, non-toxic products but don’t love the price tag, you’ve come to the right place. Here are my essentials to snag and stock up on during the Sephora Sale.
SKIN:
KP Skin Scrub: this stuff is magic. If you have KP- aka those little frustrated bumps on the back of your arms and legs- this is what you need. I’ve tried everything over the years and this is the only thing that has worked to fully remove it.
Tata Harper Moisturizer: O and I have shared this face lotion for years. The ingredients are as clean as can be which is crucial for me, but the way it leaves my skin hydrated and rejuvenated for hours is what keeps me coming back.
Unseen Sunscreen: The best sunscreen ever.
Peace Out Acne Stickers: These things just plain work. Sleep with them on and wake up with a much less impressive and angry pimple.
Summer Fridays Lip Balm: This is something I always, always have on hand because it’s the most nourishing but also, honestly, smells like a dream.
Myth Perfume: I talk about this constantly because I tried every non-toxic perfume you can imagine and they all either smelled super off to me or just gave me a migraine. This is the perfume I’ve gotten the most compliments on in my life and I’ve worn it exclusively for three years.
Glow Drops: This isn’t an essential, truth be told. It’s a luxury and it’s a splurge but it makes my skin look like that Kardashian filter.
Resurfacing Mask: This is something I’ve used for 8 years now because it brings my skin back to life.
Goop Exfoliating Mask: This stuff is super pricey–it is goop after all– but it works wonders. It’s an incredibly fine scrub that gently gets rid of all dead skin and reveals a new layer of baby skin.
HAIR:
Volumizer: As I’ve lost more and more hair due to my autoimmune disease, I’ve relied on volumizers like I never have in the past. This is my favorite because it’s lightweight but so impactful.
Charcoal Scalp Scrub and Conditioning Mask: these two need no introduction.
Briogeo Hair Oil: This smooths and seals my hair so perfectly. I also use it on Keogena’s hair when I give her a silk press to protect her strands and heal them.
WOW Dream Coat Supernatural Spray: this is a celebrity and celebrity hair stylist favorite and it truly is magic. You drench your hair with it when it’s soaking wet and it acts as a sort of shield against frizz and damage. I’ve loved it for a year now.
Olaplex: Again, needs no introduction.
Pattern Clarifying Shampoo and Heavy Conditioner: This is what I use for my kids and I also use the clarifying wash for myself when I have extra buildup on my scalp and hair from too much product.
MAKEUP:
I’m not going to go in-depth about these but every one of them is non-toxic, tried and tested and absolutely essential to my makeup bag. This contour and this highlighter is expensive, but a phenomenal non-toxic cream contour is hard to find (trust me, I tried them all) and these are a professional make up artist favorite for a reason. Foundation for when I need extra coverage a few times a year, The tinted moisturizer I use daily with SPF, concealer, eyeliner, brow wax, cream contour, cream highlight, cream blush (THE BEST) and bronzer.
TOOLS:
straightener. wide tooth comb. blow dryer (my favorite ever). beauty blender. jade roller.
If I could recommend just five things to invest in, it’d be the goop mask, my perfume, the blow dryer, the wow dream coat and the cream contour. What are your Sephora essentials?
