I am beyond excited for today’s ‘A Day in the Life’ because Michaela and I actually went to high school together! We’ve kept up with each other ever since and watching her takeover the world one interior design project at a time has been such a blessing to me. Not only is she an incredible designer, she is also the founder of the dreamy Bloom Workshop. I’ve had the pleasure of attending one of her workshops and it was nothing short of a dream come true. To learn more about Michaela, head to her about page here. To learn more about how she balances all the roles in her life from business owner to dog-mama, keep reading!
Hi there! My name is Michaela and I blog over at Michaela Noelle Designs, in between serving my interior design clients by helping them create beautiful homes for them and their families! I’m excited to be here sharing what a day in the life of me looks like! Of course every day is different, so I picked a fun one to share 🙂
7:30am | my husband leaves for work, which wakes me up at the perfect time. By now, he’s already fed our puppy, Lincoln, and taken him outside, so it’s my job to play with him in the morning. I grab my breakfast (Ezekiel bread english muffin!) and my tea and head to the couch to play fetch with the pup for about 20 minutes. He absolutely LOVES his ball!Â
8:00am | I spend a bit of time reading my bible before the day really kicks off. I just finished the study of the book of Judges (I followed along with Jen Wilkin’s Village Church podcast). I’d never read it all the way through before!
8:45am | by now I’ve finished breakfast and my devotions, so I check my email and if any emails require short replies, I do this now. I also take a minute to schedule my facebook post for the day and write down any to-do list items in my planner so I know my goals for the day. Now it’s time to get ready for the day!
10:00am | After getting ready and taking our dog out for a 10 minute walk (don’t judge, it’s 32 degrees out!), I’m out the door to check off my first to-do item: shop for a client’s bookshelf decor. I just finished designing this client lake house and it’s finally all built– love seeing the homes come together!! Now it’s time to get the space styled. My first stop is World Market. They have great accessories for bookshelves and they don’t break the bank!
11:00am | I drive over to one of my favorite home decor stores in the area called Dwellings, to continue my hunt for this bookshelf. Note to anyone decorating your shelves: you will need more decor than you think + go big! Small items don’t make the impact you need.
12:30pm | Now I’m on to my last stop of the day, as far as shopping goes. I pull into HomeGoods to look for a basket to fill with blankets and extra pillows for my client. Success! Not sure how, because the store was such a mess, but alas! Got the job done.
1:15pm | On my way to my client’s house, I stop at the post office to make a return for another client of some rug samples. I always try to do anything I can to make my client’s life easier!Â
2:00pm | I arrive at my lake house client’s home and start the beginning phase of decorating the shelves. After unwrapping everything and getting an idea of where I want to place the items, I realize I’m going to need even more decor than I thought (see note above!!) So I make a list of what else I’ll need to finish off the space.
In case you’re curious, this is how the shelves turned out, when I went back a couple days later:
4:00pm | On my way home now to let out our pup, give him a walk and do my work out video. Then I respond to more emails, get some work done for The Bloom Workshop, my second business. It’s been such a busy day, I don’t even have time to write a blog post for tomorrow, which is okay! Sometimes you have to know where to draw the line in order to stay sane 😉Â
Also! I got the mail and in it, my new favorite thing arrived: this charcoal soap for my face! I’ve been using it now for 5ish days and it has already helped even my skin tone and clear a little breakout. It also helps control my oil!
6:00pm | My husband gets home (this is a picture of Lincoln waiting for him to get home) and I’m cooking dinner while he turns on some music for me to cook along to. I always love that touch. Tonight I made this yummy tex mex skillet and it was a huge hit. When I asked my husband what he thought was in it, he never guessed cauliflower! #winning
7:30pm | After dinner and dishes, we sit down to watch This Is Us. Lincoln snugged right up to my husband. He was using a pillow like a human would and so we basically lost our minds in cuteness!
9:30pm | We read a little before bed and try to have our lights out by 10:15-10:30. It’s been a long, but good day!Â
Thanks for reading! Hope you have a wonderful day.
xoxo
