A Hashimoto’s Update: Why I’m off my Medication, Changing my Diet and How to Handle a Postpartum Flare

  1. Nikki says:

Hi Jill, not dealing with the exact exact same thing as you, but can you explain
    1. In general, how your endocrinologist has helped regarding autoimmune related things?
    2. Test you recommend a nutritionist give for someone wanting to understand dietary needs after a diagnosis

    • Jill says:

      Hi Nikki—
I work directly with my endocrinologist to manage medication for my autoimmune disease of the thyroid. My nutritionist cannot give that information so that is a crucial step. Once you meet with a nutritionist (at least a holistic one) they will order the tests necessary based on your symptoms and needs! It’ll most likely start with a full bloodwork panel.

Hello! I was wondering what the liver detox you mentioned would consist of? I have similar systems to you and am always ready to try something new 😉

    Thanks!! 🙂

    • Jill says:

      Hi, Cait!

I’m not exactly sure yet because my nutritionist would give me the protocol. I’m taking some supplements for it currently but if I do end up doing the liver cleanse after I’m finished breastfeeding I’ll absolutely share what that looks like!

  3. Hi Jill,

My heart goes out to you and prayers as well. I am praying right now that the Holy Spirit bring you peace beyond our understanding. I am praying that you will once again mount on wings like eagles and not grow weary easily and your body will be restored.

I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of years and have loved seeing your life journeys and how you have leaned on the Lord. I have been thankful to remember his faithfulness toward you when you lost the baby prior to baby Z.

I have been inspired by yours posts as well (we purchased my son Brayden’s Crate and Barrell chalkboard for Christmas last year) after I saw a post with a picture of it you had written. My husband and I even went on a trip to NYC last December & visited several of the places you had mentioned because he and too deal with autoimmune and I was thrilled to know there were AIP/Paelo options. 🙂

All this to say, your touching and impacting more people than you know with your honesty and your heart. Here are big socially distanced hugs from me to you. Keep the faith, sister. The Lord will part another Red Sea for you, I just know it!
