How I’m Focusing on Staying Healthy in my Second Timester

Everyone wants to be healthy during their pregnancy. It’s a given. That being said, it’s certainly not always easy to be healthy during pregnancy. We are extra tired, our bodies are working extra hard, we typically don’t feel that well (lets be real. we can feel like garbage) and we’re often not sleeping like champs either. All of these things combined wreak havoc on our bodies and our immune systems, especially for someone with an autoimmune disease like me, and the last thing we feel like doing most of the time is hitting the gym and eating a bowl of greens. Here’s how I’m staying healthy from the inside out in my second trimester.

Working Out When You Can’t Get to the Gym

It’s January. The time of year where everyone digs out their fitbits and dusts off their sports bras to stick to those resolutions. Ahhh the resolutions. We mustn’t let them down! The thing is this–getting to the gym isn’t always possible. Our gym doesn’t have childcare and in this new season of life, O is gone before the sun comes up and isn’t home til’ it’s back down. I have two toddlers, a small window of time to get a workout in and a goal to break a sweat every day. What’s a girl to do? Utilize what you’ve got!

My Health Goals for 2018

I have an overall goal every year to be generally healthier, but I’ve found I always do better at actually accomplishing my goals when they’re very specific rather than so broad and vague. “Be healthy” is an awesome buzzword and yes, three cheers for aspiring for it. But what does it actually mean and look like for my life?

Friday Feels

We made it! Happy Friday! We’re one week into a new month and I just have to say, October has a way of bringing out the worst of me if I let it. I plan way too many things to “soak up the season,” I overanalyze our halloween costumes and most of all, I tend to leave behind the healthy eating and committed exercising in exchange for chili, pumpkin bread, apple cider doughnuts and chunky knits to hide behind.
