If you gathered 100 women from all over the country and sat them down to ask each of them their favorite season to get dressed in, the answer would be a unanimous “Fall.” Sure it’s nice to wear sundresses for three months straight in summertime but there is nothing quite as comforting as getting to throw on an extra layer every day of Fall. We’ve made it to cozy season, my friends. Whether you’re looking to snuggle up at the football game in a pullover or head downtown in a full on sherpa coat, I’ve got you covered.
I asked on Instagram last week what Fall Fashion content you all wanted to see from this space and four things tied for first place. All the next fashion posts will tackle your requests so we’re building the foundation here with first things first: the Fall Wardrobe 5×5. Five different variations of the five pieces that make for a foolproof closet once the temperatures begin to dip. These are the workhorses that you’ll rotate all fall long year after year.
I always reach a point in October where I essentially rotate four sweaters all the way through February. Not even joking. Four. I’m a creature of comfort and the thought of slipping into anything other than a cozy turtleneck or warm cardigan on a chilly day just isn’t going to cut it. Here’s a roundup of my favorite sweaters across the board for the cozy months ahead.
Camoflauge makes me feel some type of way. I don’t know what it is but it’s part cool and part nineties nostalgia but i’ve never gotten over it. I picked up this jacket in a vintage store while killing time in New York, but I’m thrilled to say camo is making a huge comeback this fall!Even while the whole world laughed at this timeless print thanks to ‘Duck Dynasty’ and such, I never lost hope, friends. Show of hands for anyone else who never gave up on it in the first place? (Am I raising my hand alone?)
Can I say that yet? Fall? If you live in Texas you’re giving me a hard ‘No’ but September always means Fall to me! And friends, September is just three days away. If you were to look in my closet, you might think I have somewhat of a uniform. And you’d be right. I feel my absolute best in neutrals and think they’re the most practical on the bang for your buck scale, but also take the guess work out of getting dressed. Sometimes though, just sometimes, I’m drawn to something beautiful and bright and yellow for Autumn just feels right.
Sometimes you just need to answer all the questions in one place, you know?! I’m rounding up the images I’ve received the most DM’s or emails about to share the details in this post.
